What Are Community Groups, and Why Do They Matter
At True North Dreamin’, we believe the heart of our ecosystem lives in the community. It’s in the meetups held over coffee in a coffee shop, the meetings held in the local library, the after work meetups in the Salesforce office. It’s in virtual calls where someone finally understands how a Flow works. It’s in the quiet encouragement of peers who’ve been where you are.
Across Canada, there are incredible user groups in the Salesforce, Slack, Tableau, and MuleSoft communities—all led by volunteers who care deeply about helping others grow. From small-town meetups over Zoom to local Trailblazer groups hosting workshops, these volunteer-led circles help people connect, learn, and belong.

How TND Supports Local Groups
At True North Dreamin’, we see local community groups as the backbone of the Salesforce ecosystem in Canada. They’re where careers begin, questions get answered, and long-term connections are built.
Many of the speakers, volunteers, and attendees who make TND what it is are active leaders or members of their local groups. We know the impact those communities have, and we’re committed to supporting them however we can.
Whether it's by highlighting Canadian user groups on our platforms, creating space for local leaders to present, presenting at the local groups, or simply cheering them on—TND is here to lift up the people doing the work, year-round, not just at the event.
Don’t See a Group in Your Area? Start One!
One of the best things about the Salesforce ecosystem is that anyone can step up and lead. If you don’t see a user group in your region or specialty—you can start one.
Starting a group might sound intimidating, but you're not alone. The Trailblazer Community Group Program (and similar programs in Tableau, Slack, and MuleSoft) offer support, resources, and templates to help you get started. You'll also gain access to global communities of other leaders to learn from.
Your local perspective matters. Whether you’re in a major city or a rural region, your voice can create a space for others to connect, grow, and belong.

Whether you're looking to learn something new, find a mentor, or just connect with folks who "get it," there’s probably a community, or several communities waiting to welcome you. While many of the groups hold in-person meetings, some occasionally or frequently hold virtual meetings as well, so don’t let geography hold you back from joining or attending any of these groups, both across Canada and around the world! Yes, you can belong to more than one! And if there isn't yet? Maybe it's time to start one. 😉
If you're a group leader and want to collaborate with us, showcase your group at TND2026, have us present at your group, or just say hi—reach out. We'd love to connect.
